Ayurveda A Blessing!
India is the land of the Vedas, and also the Ayurveda. One of the oldest systems of healthcare in the world. Ayurveda consist of two Sanskrit words, 'Ayur' and 'Veda'. 'Ayur' means life, while 'Veda' means science. Therefore, Ayurveda literally means the 'Science of Life'. It is not just a medicinal system, but also a way of life. Ayurveda has been widely recognized, as a system of natural health care congenial to the health needs of women. All over the world more and more women are turning to herbal medicine so that they have total control on their bodies throughout their lives.
Ayurveda is the science of life. Ayurveda is a science dealing not only with treatment of some diseases but is a complete way of life. Ayurveda is considered to be a form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) within the western world, where several of its methods, such as the use of herbs, massage, and Yoga as exercise or alternative medicine, are applied on their own as a form of CAM treatment.
Ayurveda had recognized the importance of the environment in the total health. Ayurveda deals with the physical, as well as spiritual health. The medicinal form is governed by the laws of nature, which suggest that life is a combination of senses, mind, body and soul.
Ayurveda aims to make mankind healthy and happy. India has gained worldwide recognition for its indigenous and extensive Ayurvedic treatment. Panchakarma is one such famous way of Ayurvedic treatment practiced widely in India. Various centers are established throughout the length and breadth of the country, wherein authentic Ayurvedic treatment is given.
The ayurveda treatments can be classified into (Six):
1. Massages.
2. Dhara.
3. Kizhi.
4. Vasthi.
5. Eye treatments.
6. Panchakarma.
Thus, Ayurveda is blessing for human being in today's fast life. |
