Choosing the right PC

Choosing the right configuration when planning a new computer is not an easy task. It requires a clear understanding of the fact that what has prompted you to buy or update your PC, what use will it be put to and how to strike the best deal within the confines of your budgetary limits. Here is a small guideline, which might prove helpful.

What should be the memory size?

Unless you are using Windows Vista, 512 MB DDR2 SD RAM will be sufficient for XP or any lower version. In case of Vista it is better to go 1GB RAM otherwise the painful slow speed will definitely raise your temper.

Hard drive:
In present times, hard drives come with massive storage capacity at reasonable price, hence an 80GB is the minimum you should get for your PC (preferably serial ATA), SATA will be a good choice, A second hard drive is greater for backups.

Built-in sound card
DVD RW Drive and At least 4 USB ports
