Even today teaching is considered a highly noble profession and is considered the safest and most satisfying especially for womenfolk.

The area of specialization includes ability to teach in nursery schools, middle schools, colleges, Universities, institutes, high schools etc. It all depends upon an individual as to what kind of student he wishes to interact with. For instance, if one loves to be with children, teaching at schools in the primary level is good option. Similarly for young adults, one can be comfortable with teaching in universities and colleges.

Special education teachers are involved in the student’s behavioral, social, and academic development, helping the students develop emotionally, feel comfortable in social situations and be aware of socially acceptable behavior. They have to work in close association with parents and medical professionals like speech therapist, physiotherapist etc. Preparing special education students for daily life after graduation also an important aspect of the job. Teachers provide students with career counseling or help them learn routine skills, such as balancing a chequebook.
